• Why Flake Ice is best ? Companies using ice in their plants can choose from five types of ice : block, plateF shell, tube or flake.
If you want to make, store and distribute ice over many use points at low cost there are several advantages which only flake ice gives you.
Rapid ending or mixing : Flake ice has more than 1740 sq.mtr. of cooling surface per metric ton-Better Product coverage : Small flat ice flakes flow more freely and provide greater contact area.
Better product protection : Flake ice remains dry, packs well and coushions your product against damage during packing, storage and transportation.
Easy storage and distribution : Flake Ice is dry on both sides and docs not congeal or form into clumps. It wllll not freeze up In the bin or clog screw or pneumatic conveyors.
Long storage life : Flake ice is sub cooled to provide more than SO Kcaf/kg. when harvested . Sub cooling can easily adjusted in the fields to - 18Q C- or lower. Melts slowly than block ice when exposed to atmosphere.
More economical : Flake ice can be manufactured with less energy than any other type of ice : 4325 Kcal/hr per metric ton of ice with 16 deg.c. water. In most cases , it's even more economical to operate your own ice plant by combining flake Ice makerswith a patented Hi-Tech Ice storage and delivery system.

• How the Hi Tech Flake Ice Maker works ? All Hi-Tech models operate the same way. Only their physical size and consequent capacities differ.
Every Hi-Tech Flake Ice Maker is a vertical, double-waUed, cylindrical evaporator (1) The cylinder remains stationary, while the internal rotor, water rings and drip shield revolve. Water Is pumped into the top of the rotor (2) and distributed through the water rings{3) on to inner freezing surface in a continuous curtain(4).
A high velocity, low temperature refrigerant contained between the cylinder's walls freezes the water almost Immediately.
The rotor arm carries a set of stainless steel ice removal tools(S). Ice is sub cooled in the drying arc and then the tools shear the ice from the freezing surface without touching the wall. The Ice falls out (6) the bottom of the ice maker in to the storage bin.
No water is delivered with the ice because the drip shield deflects any excess water Into a receiving pan from which It is recirculated to make more lce(7). You can adjust the ice temperature by varying the width of the drying arc which allows the temperature of - 18° C or lower. Ice thickness is adjusted by changing the speed of the rotor with the variable pitched pulley.
Ice can be continuously produced even a 24 hours a day without an attendant-In case of power failure all water drains in to the water rectrculation tank. There is no danger of your Ice system freezing up.
